OCULOPLASTIC SURGERY

Oculoplastics is a surgical subspecialty concerning plastic surgery for the area around the eyes, including eyebrows, eyelids, and skin near or adjacent to the eye sockets. Oculoplastic surgeons are Ophthalmologists with additional subspecialty training in plastic surgery of the eyelids and skin regions adjacent to the eye.

At Unify Health, our Oculoplastic surgical team offers both medically necessary and elective cosmetic procedures to help improve your eye health and maintain a fresh, youthful and natural appearance.

Common conditions treated by our Oculoplastic surgery team include:

  • Eyelid lumps and bumps

  • Droopy eyelids (ptosis)

  • Excess skin above the eyelids (dermatochalasis)

  • Abnormal in-turning or out-turning of the eyelids (entropions and ectropions)

  • Chalazion excisions (styes)

  • Functional and cosmetic Botox

Our team has special expertise in performing eyelid lifts (blepharoplasty) for patients with:

  • Loose and sagging skin over the upper eyelids

  • Excessive fat in the upper/and or lower eyelids

  • Lower eye bags

  • Excessive skin and wrinkles in the lower lids

Is there a cost associated with these techniques?

While OHIP covers some medically necessary plastic and reconstructive procedures, most elective cosmetic procedures are not covered. Our team will be able to assist you in providing information about which procedures will be associated with a private fee.
