Dr. Claire Fine MD, CCFP (SEM)
Dr. Claire Fine is a fellowship-trained Primary Care Sport and Exercise Medicine physician. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University, followed by residency in Family Medicine and a Sport and Exercise Medicine Fellowship at the University of Toronto. She holds a diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM).
Dr. Fine has provided medical care for athletes at all levels. She was the lead physician for the Canadian Women's Basketball U19 team at the FIBA World Championships Exhibition in Portugal and served as the junior team physician for the University of Toronto Men’s Soccer team. She has also covered events and teams including the University of Toronto Track and Field and Varsity Hockey teams (Men's and Women's), the National Ballet of Canada, the Toronto Marathon, and the Gravenhurst Triathlon.
Clinically, Dr. Fine treats acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries in both children and adults. Her practice includes ultrasound and landmark guided injections for joints, tendons, and bursae, including carpal tunnel injections and hydrodistention for frozen shoulder. She provides corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections for appropriate indications.
Dr. Fine also manages acute sport-related concussions, guiding athletes safely through return-to-play protocols with a focus on evidence-based care.
